Resurrecting the Champ (2007)

Here's a drama with Samuel L. Jackson as co starring in this flic about a sports reporter on the edge of being without a job when he accidental saves a back alley bum who turns up to be a boxing legend. The reporter decides to write a story about the "Champ" and it turns out to be a success which he feeds off for quite a while. But will it last ? and what if not everything is true? Well, find out yourself, the movies is a good drama which teaches you to show brotherly love. Watch it with friends or alone, it is a good movie.

Sex and Breakfast

Kind of an odd movie which tries to cook up something with sex as the teaser. But the proper title for this movie should have been "Couples therapy and some breakfast". Although every scene is sprung from a sexual act then the real issues is: know your partner, and know yourself. Sadly I feel that this movie tries two things without actually completing any. So, skip this one, unless the sex thing has an appeal to you.

Sex and Death 101

More sex, and this one is the real deal. This is a comedy about a guy who get's an email of everyone he has ever slept with and everyone he will ever sleep with. Now, the writer must have some urge with sex, since he came up with this idea. Anyway, this is suppose to be a funny movie and it manages this very good. I laughed - alot. But HEY!, it's just me. Get it on DVD, and watch it on a sunday.

Sex and The City

We keep going on in the "sex" lane. This time with the motion picture of the popular TV series "Sex and the City" with Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. Now, I like the TV series. So the motion picture had to top the TV series to get a good review. And... the motion picture suceeds. It is like a quality long episode with good closure. I'll recommend this one for anyone who likes Carrie and the bunch.

Smart People

Here is a romantic drama starring Dennis Quaid and Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie from before). Now I expected this one to be a good intellectual romantic drama with a slight touch of comedy. Now that is probably aiming a bit too high. And surely the movie cannot honor all those demands. The romantic part is too shallow, the comedy is too thin, the intellectual part is there - somewhat. And the drama goes on between the father and the daugter, played by Ellen Page (Love that Boy, X-Men, and Juno). Ellen does a good job, a real good one. Dennis Quaid too, although he is not as sharp as i wanted him to be. Sarah is Sarah, and that is just the way it is. So, don't get your expectations too high, but watch it if you have time to kill, it isn't that bad.

Street Kings

Rushing into policework, crime and violence. Starring Keanu Reeves whom I last saw in "The Lake House" and "A Scanner Darkly" and Forrest Whitaker from "Vantage Point" among others. This is an action movie. No doubts there. And you get alot of killing, shooting and beating up if you watch this movie. I'd advise you to get it on DVD and watch it with the guys on a free evening. It is even worth watching in the theaters. It is a above average action movie, but it does not have any thriller to it. Above average violence.

Superhero Movie

Here is another crazy comedy, in which we find Leslie Nielsen, and a bunch of other "crazy" actors. This flic is a parody on Spiderman, but Firefly. I can't say much about this flic, except it is suppose to be funny and it is a half success. All in all, skip this one.

Surburbian Girl

Alec Baldwin and Sarah Michelle Gellar in a romantic drama about growing up to be an independant woman. That is about what one can say about this movie. It is cute though and easily watched. The movie doesn't stick too deep, but is all in all an okay movie. You can watch it without feeling a complete waiste of time.

The Bank Job

Jason Statham, and small time criminal who plays it out as a car salesman. He is lured into a bank heist which involves someone from the british royal family. Together with his less than successful crime buddies they attempt and suceed to empty the bank boxes with all the contents, including the photos of the british royal. Now the government hunts them, the mafia because they lost stuff inthe vault too. So this is about avoid getting caught and coming out on top. It's a above average movie, although not Jason's best. Watch it if you like Statham.

The Italien Job

Again Jason Statham in a action crime story about a huge heist from Vienna where the "buddies" turn on each other and then settling the score with style. The cast is impressive with known good actors. And the flic is a keeper. Go see.

The Scorpion King 2

Now!, here is a B movie...wow, I was too hasty on that....sorry, a C movie. This could have been a good "sci-fi" movie with good thrilling special effects like The Mummy etc. But it isn't. It is simply worse than budget PC graphics. Don't go here.

Transporter (2002)

Jason Statham again, this time the original Transporter movie. This one is a gem, good action - Statham style. Cool, carm and collected with the style of the new James Bond. This one is a keeper and a go see.

Transporter 2 (2005)

Same style as Transport from 2002 and same comment from me. A keeper and a go-see. No questions asked.

There Will Be Blood

Back in history of the United States of American and the Western colture and the new age of oil. A drama about greed and rejection. Fatal greed. This is a good drame if you are into these kinds of movies. Not my personal favorite, by far - but an all in all good movie. Watch it if you want to see how greed can rip you of your life.

Transsiberian

Woody Harrison as an angel caught in the evil claws of youth with bad experiences and the drug crime world of corrupt state officials. I had hoped for some more "transsiberian train waisteland footage", but it didn't quite catch me, even though there were scenes in there. This is a good movie, it is over way too quick though. Has a good ending with some justice. Go see this one.

Turn The River (2007)

Here we have a mother / son drama about a lost sould with no more talents that being a hustler and her urge to break free of all of it and provide a better life for her child. Famke Janssen shows a new good side of her acting skills in this movie. And if you're into the hustling doublecross then go see this one. But it will also kick it as an avarage drama for a sunday afternoon.

Untraceable

Here we have a psyco thriller with Saw like scenes and "Silence of the Lambs" style. A good mix and a mix which will stick you to the screen. This movie is not for the avarage person. Watch it only if you can handle the gore and evil of movies like Saw / Silence of the Lambs. A good one, never the less. Go see.
